Once a year we offer a one-week workshop about the construction and repair of string instruments, together with G.K. Hannabach and his son. This workshop is meant for guitar teachers and players who want to know more about their instrument, for members of mandolin and guitar orchestras and ensembles, who want to service their instruments correctly, for music shops which carry out repair works, and for people who want to build or repair their own instruments.

We teach techniques of manual woodworking, demonstrate tool-sharpening, help with instrument repairs and construction and clarify technical aspects of stringed instrument construction.

The course takes place in October at the youth education centre of Barmstedt nearby Hamburg. Tuition expenses are 360 Euro including board and lodging. The number of participants is limited to 15.
